The newest video game consoles are the premier way to play games nowadays, and while it would be nice to have all of them, the cost prevents most people from owning more than one or two. Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the Wii are all available for purchase and are all exceptionally unique.
The successor to the Xbox, created by Microsft, did not have much new features in regards to the controller. However, as with most next generation systems, the picture and sound quality was much better.
Xbox Live, the premier online service, can be utilized on the Xbox 360 for a small fee. Besides allowing people to play against each other over the Internet, it also enables users to download all sorts of content, including game updates and TV shows.
Sony recognized the importance of graphics and installed every Playstation 3 with a Blu-ray player. That way, games are processed with extreme power, and as an added bonus, Blu-ray movies can be viewed with the PS3.
Sony also recognized the importance of online gaming, which is why they developed the Playstation Network. It is virtually the same as Xbox Live, although there are some logistical and interface differences that would accompany any competitor's product.
The most unique of the next generation consoles is the Nintendo Wii. The reason it is so distinguished is due to its controller and method of gameplay. The Wii is heavily reliant upon motion, and some games do not even require that you push any buttons.
The Wii is also more family oriented, as Nintendo has long been known to release a wide variety of family-friendly games. That is not to say there are not more adult titles available, but the general theme of the console definitely sways towards a family setting.
With all these different features, it can be difficult deciding on a console. Some people solve this problem by getting all three, but for most people, the decision takes a lot of time and thought.
